David and Kaye were very keen for their Aikwood Tower wedding photography in the Scottish Borders to be very personal to them so Kaye chose to do her own hair and make up, they made their own food and had a lovely intimate wedding surrounded by close friends (with the odd game of croquet thrown in….!)
The beautiful Aikwood Tower is a quirky country house in the Scottish Border. They had their ceremony at the same venue as the reception, which was great having everything all in one venue. They chose Aikwood Tower because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they could have the place for the whole weekend. I love shooting weddings there because the building is so unusual and the grounds are endless.
The wedding itself was an intimate affair in a beautiful room in the Tower. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends. It was so personal.
After the ceremony we walked around the surrounding woodlands for photos in the afternoon before heading back to the tower to join their friends for the reception.
The best bit about the day was the afternoon reception, because everyone chilled out playing games in the gardens.
