I love the opportunity to be a destination wedding photographer, so when Matt and Vicky contacted my about their Swiss Alpine Wedding I was delighted!
The plan was for an outdoor wedding in the woods before getting a cable car to the top of the mountain for drinks and canapes on the terrace with views over 5 countries (still trying to work out what the 5 countries are …. 🙂 )……..unfortunately to quote Robbie Burns…”The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-gley…..”  The weather had other plans!!
I woke to the sound of cow bells and torrential rain!! Vicky was getting ready in one of the most interesting bridal suites I have been in for a while and Matt and the boys enjoyed an Appenzeller before the ceremony. The weather meant a change of plans to an indoor venue with the guests arriving to the sound of Alpine horns……We still travelled up via the cable car but on arriving at the top the temp was -1 and yes the rain had turned to snow……in JUNE!!!! Luckily there was plenty of room for the drinks reception, so apart from a few hardy lunatics who braved the terrace (myself included), everyone was nice a warm inside.
Back down to the hotel for the meal and some of the most “energetic” dancing I have seen in a while!!
Here are a selection of images. Please feel free to leave a comment for Matt and Vicky below.
Love these photos. And the weather didn’t seem to dampen the spirit of the day. Fabulous and very very lovely.
Thanks Carole…….Just a lovely couple and their family and friends….Was great fun to shoot (despite the weather!)
