Old Course Hotel Wedding Photography – Scott and Mary

Mary and Scott chose the luxurious Old Course Hotel in St Andrews for their relaxed and intimate wedding.  A five star luxury hotel and spa set at one of the world’s most famous golf courses, Old Course Hotel Wedding Photography is always a pleasure to shoot.

It was important to Mary and Scott to have a laid back atmosphere at their wedding focusing on family and friends so I arrived early to take some shots of Mary and she prepared in one of Old Course’s elegant rooms.  Mary was in good hands with her and Scott’s beautiful daughters making up the bridesmaids party.  After this I met the boys outside for a quick portrait session before we all headed indoors for the ceremony which was held in the conservatory.  A stunning chandeliered room with floor to ceiling windows offering breath-taking views of the course and giving me excellent light to take some great shots.   There were two lovely readings read by two of the bridesmaids.  Scott arranged a wonderful surprise for Mary at the end of the ceremony as the pair turned to walk down the aisle under confetti canons Mary was surprised with a jazz band playing ‘All you need is love’ as they walked back down the aisle.  The band, called the Ritz Trio, then went on to entertain the guests during the drinks reception. (They were very good!)

It was a cold day but Mary impressed me by braving the weather so that I could take some shots of her and Scott outside.  We took a short walk around the grounds of this iconic venue, and headed for the world famous Swilken Bridge, which has a lovely significance for the couple as it is precisely where Scott proposed.  (There was the problem of the bridge currently being repaired but with a bit of determination and just the right angle we got our shot!)

We then returned indoors to a warm welcome and a drinks reception at the famous Road Hole Bar where we were reunited with the Mary and Scott’s guests and I took some family and group shots in the warm making the most of the luxurious interiors as a backdrop.  Everyone happily made their way back down to the conservatory for the cutting of the cake and the speeches.  Once everyone was seated, one of the bridesmaids said grace, and then Mary, Scott and their guests enjoyed a sumptuous wedding breakfast.

A friendly laid back wedding for this lovely couple in a spectacular venue in historic St Andrews.  Congratulations to Mary and Scott for getting married and creating such a memorable day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember.
