Fasque wedding photography
Lynsey and Graham enjoyed a bright crisp spring day for their March wedding, which was held in the exquisite Fasque Castle. Lynsey prepared for her day in Fasque’s beautiful bridal suite that has the most stunning light for me to take great shots of Lynsey as she prepared. I also took some lovely shots of the flower girls (Lynsey’s gorgeous nieces) who were transfixed watching Lynsey being made up.
I then headed down to the library where I found Graham and the grooms’ party drinking whiskey. Another beautiful room the library has light streaming through the large windows, book-case lined walls and rich velvet sofas. The perfect place to enjoy a few drams to steady the nerves!
One of my favourite shots of the day was an un-posed shot of Lynsey walking down the magnificent sweeping staircase to go to the ceremony. Lynsey looked stunning in her dress, that coupled with natural make-up and her loosely tousled hairstyle gave her a look of relaxed understated elegance.
After a beautiful ceremony held in the little chapel on the grounds, I had a chance to take some great outside shots of Lynsey and Graham in the beautiful gardens. We then walked back into the house to join their guests for reception drinks and speeches. Another shot I loved was of them walking up the path towards the ceremony. They looked so happy. The delicious wedding breakfast followed. I must say I loved the wedding cake. Wedding cakes usually scream ‘don’t touch’ but this one seemed to say ‘tuck in’!
Before the first dance, Lynsey threw her bouquet which gave me a chance to take a fun action shot as well. When a wedding offers its guests free flip flops (on this occasion placed next to the dancefloor) I know we’re in for a party and Lynsey, Graham and their guests didn’t disappoint with dancing going on well into the night.
In the evening, Fasque Houses’ facade is beautifully lit up so before leaving I took Lynsey and Graham outside for a quick portrait. It’s a lovely shot that I think makes the perfect image to close the story of their wedding day.
Congratulations to Lynsey and Graham on getting married. I hope my images will allow you to relive your day again and again.
