Wedding Photography Frequently asked questions:

What is a pre wedding shoot?

One of the options I offer is a Pre Wedding shoot.  Every couple I meet is nervous about getting their photographs taken.  This captures your relationship in an “everyday” kind of way and the images are wonderful for using at your wedding reception or to decorate your home.  The session helps us to build a working relationship together prior to your wedding day photographs - you will become more comfortable in front of the camera and I will gain an understanding of how the two of you interact together.

Pre-Wedding portrait sessions take place mid-week here on the farm.
More information on the pre-wedding portrait shoot (if you choose to add it on as an option) and how best to use the images from your session will be provided when your booking is confirmed.

How do I reserve my date?

When you book a non-refundable date reservation fee of £350 will be required to secure your date.
The balance (including any travel charges and any charge for extended coverage, pre-purchased album sides etc) will be due 30 days before the wedding.

Payment can be made via credit or debit card or by direct bank transfer (please contact me for the account number and sort code).  Please be aware that due to the high volume of enquiries I receive for a small number of wedding dates available, I am unable to provisionally hold dates and have to operate on a “first come first served” Basis.  This means that the first booking form and date reservation fee I receive secures the date and all other enquirers for that date will be notified that it is no longer available.

If you would like to go ahead and reserve your date please contact me to confirm that your date is still available and I will send you through a booking form to complete.

Do you take formal photographs?

Although I work predominantly in a documentary style of photography, I am happy to shoot up to 8/10 group photographs.
This should take around 30 minutes to complete, and I will work to a list agreed before the wedding day.
I also spend about 20 minutes photographing the couple alone to create come wonderful portraits.

Apart from the agreed list of shots mentioned I will not actively seek out groups of people to photograph formally on the day, for example tables of people.  I also recommend that if there is a family member of guest that you particularly want me to photograph you should make me aware of who these people/group are on the actual day

How much time needs to be set aside for photographs?

The best photographs happen when there has been time set aside for photography.  Even though much of my photography is done in the informal, candid style there are certain part of the day where I encourage enough time be built into the schedule so that I can get the variety, style and quality of images that you want.

I recommend a gap of at least 1.5 hours between the start of your reception and when you sit down for your meal or the start of the receiving line.  This part of the day is the most lively and animated and will allow me to capture some of the most precious pictures from the day.  Part of this time will be taken up with any family/group photos that you want (approx 30 mins) and with creative shots of just the couple (approx 30 mins). For the remainder of this time I will be capturing candid, informal and fun photographs whilst you chat and mingle with your family and firends (approx 30 mins)

What happens after the wedding and when do we get to see our photographs?

Whilst you are enjoying your honeymoon I will be working with your pictures to produce a collection of stunning images.  This process involves editing and retouching to ensure consistent quality throughout the set of photographs.  I photograph your wedding with the aim of showing the complete story of your day and with the end result of your album in mind.

I know you will be dying to see some images so get a small selection up for you on my Facebook pages so you can tag yourself and share with family and friends. Your full gallery will be ready approx 5-6 weeks after your wedding.
