Forrester Park Wedding Photography – Adelle and Stuart
It was a cold day for Adelle and Stuart’s beautiful winter wedding at Forrester Park resort. Forrester Park sits within a great golf course in 350 acres of beautiful parkland, this fact coupled with its sumptuous period interiors and amazing light always make Forrester Park Wedding Photography a pleasure to shoot.
In preparation for the ceremony Adelle, Stuart and their wedding party made good use of the suite of rooms the venue has to offer. Adelle, who looked stunning in her fitted bodice dress, that looked like it was made of snowflakes, prepared in an elegant room with a beautiful antique mirror, allowing me to take some great portraits shots of her as she got ready. Bridesmaids wore lovely deep red dresses which really complimented Adelle’s dress but also the lavish surroundings. Stuart and his wedding party all looked handsome in traditional Scottish dress (proving that it is never too cold to wear a kilt!)
The ceremony was held in the Grand Hall, a Robert Adam styled room that has crystal chandeliers and a stunning black and white chequered floor. The centre piece of the room is an ornate period fireplace. It was in front of the fireplace that Adelle and Stuart were married. A pretty archway divided the room into two areas one for the ceremony and one for the wedding breakfast and the natural light flooding in through the ceiling to floor windows provided me with perfect lighting. In fact I was so impressed with the Grand Hall’s interiors and the weather outside was so cold that I took all the group and family shots inside making good use of the period features and excellent light.
Usually, we are offered a golf buggy to hop on to drive around the grounds to take some outside shots (another reason why I love shooting weddings at Forrester Park.) Unfortunately, three months of rain made this impossible on the day. But this didn’t deter us and Adelle really impressed me by stepping outside (did I mention that it was really cold) with myself and Stuart to take some outside shots in the vicinity of the building.
I always love the little touches at weddings and at Adelle and Stuart’s I particularly liked the way they had dressed the tables. If I had to name the style I’d go with ‘elegant vintage tea party.’ The effect was very pretty. After the wedding breakfast and speeches it was on to the entertainment which was provided by Ceilidh band ‘Whiskey Kiss’. Many of Adelle and Stuart’s guests had travelled from the south so weren’t accustomed to Scottish dancing but they were all really enthusiastic, shoes were kicked off and guests lined themselves up ready to learn, which caused much laughter well in to the evening.
A gorgeous traditional Scottish wedding for a lovely couple. Congratulations to Adelle and Stuart for getting married and creating such a memorable day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember. I hope my Forrester Park Wedding Photography images will help you to relive your day again and again for many years to come.
