Fingask Castle Wedding Photography – Alex and Margo

Fingask Castle Wedding Photography – I always knew that Margo and Alex’s wedding was going to be well organised as Margo is part of the marketing team at Scone Palace so has plenty of knowledge when it comes to planning the perfect Scottish castle wedding.  They chose Fingask Castle, a romantic and quirky little castle, established in 1286, set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.  One of the reasons I love shooting weddings at Fingask Castle are the magnificent gardens.

The couple wanted a relaxed and informal day focusing on their family and friends so I arrived at the castle early to capture guests as they arrived.  I carried on shooting all day in this way, with just a few posed and group shots.

Margo looked stunning in a lace detailed fitted dress complimented by a beautiful bouquet. Her hair was loosely swept back and framed by a pretty fascinator.  The effect gave Margo a look of elegant understated glamour.  Alex and his best man looked resplendent in tartan trousers.

The ceremony took place upstairs in the long gallery.  A beautiful room with plastered ceilings and a red carpet that leads the bride and groom to an ornate grand fire place in front of which Margo and Alex were married.   The long gallery also has wonderful mirrored walls that gave me some fantastic light to take some great shots.

After the ceremony I took Margo and Alex for a quick walk around grounds to get a few portraits before heading straight back to join the rest of party who were soaking up the sunshine in the beautiful fountain courtyard enjoying reception drinks (and the most amazing canapes!)

Margo and Alex then led all their guests to the pavilion for speeches and the party.  Fingask’s pavilion is a large flexible building that is ideal for wedding celebrations.  Beautifully decorated and lit with hundreds of pretty lights it really gave a magical feel to Margo and Alex’s day, and it was in there, with everyone around me partying the night away, that I took my leave.

A relaxed and informal wedding with lots of smiles and laughter.  Congratulations Margo and Alex for getting married and creating such a special and unique day for you all to remember.  I hope my images will help you relive your day for many years to come.
