Aberdeenshire Wedding Photography – Penny and Gordon
Aberdeenshire Wedding Photography
I first met Penny and Gordon when I shot Penny’s brother’s wedding back in May. So it was lovely to see some friendly and familiar faces again. I love when I get to shoot weddings on farms, having grown up on one myself I always identify with the quirkiness of them as a wedding venue.
Penny got ready at the farm so I arrived early to take some shots of her and her bridal party as they made their final preparations. Gordon got ready at his father’s house nearby.
The ceremony and reception was held in a marquee that was erected inside a shed! An ingenious idea as it meant the venue would be totally unaffected by rain. Penny and Gordon had a lunchtime ceremony conducted by Annie Hutchon, who is a friend of Penny’s. After the ceremony we jumped into the car to a neighbouring estate to take some shots of Penny, Gordon and their children before heading back up to the farm for some portrait shots. As it was a farm wedding we dragged across some bales for the family and group shots.
Lunch was a more intimate affair with Penny, Gordon and around 50 guests. However, later in the day a further 150 guests arrived for a hog roast, there was also a bouncy castle for the children (and the young at heart!) and even a casino! Penny and Gordon thought of everything, there really was something for everybody at this wedding.
A lovely couple and a wonderfully quirky wedding full of love and laughter. Congratulations to Penny and Gordon for getting married and creating such a unique day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember, and thank you for allowing me to tell the story of it. I had a blast!
